Chair of The Standing Comittee on Family and Cultural Affairs in Parliament declares the Nordic Bible Museum open

Special Exhibition on Sami Bibles
February 6, 2019

Kristin Ørmen Johnsen

Today is a day of joy and significance to all of us who have worked towards the establishment of the Nordic Bible Museum. It marks the opening of the museum, and 120 specially invited guests have confirmed their attendance.

The official opening will be conducted by MP Kristin Ørmen Johnsen of the Conservatives. She is also the chair of The Standing Comittee on Family and Cultural Affairs in the Storting—the Norwegian Parliament. More than 50 volunteers have worked tirelessly to prepare for the opening. The entire museum was assembled in less than 14 days, and we have the proud pleasure of displaying the largest collection of bibles in the Nordic region here in Oslo. The museum is the only one of its kind in the Nordic countries, and is in possession of more than 3000 Bibles.

From tomorrow, the museum will be open to the public.
