Many houses and buildings around the world have been decorated with quotes from the Bible. This tradition dates back to the Reformation, when it became common to decorate houses with biblical inscriptions. Most often it was simply God’s name or a quote from the Psalms that were carved into the plaster. This was not only done on Churches and other religious buildings, but also on inn’s, farms and private homes. 

Several modern buildings also bear biblical quotes. A well known example is FN’s headquarters in New York, where a verse from Isaiah is engraved into the wall. The headquarters of the American intelligence agency (the CIA), the George Bush Center for Intelligence, has also been adorned with a biblical quote from the Gospel of John.
